Can we change our ideas about money?

Greetings to all MySPURT clients.

Yes, it was quiet from our side for a while. It was quiet, all over the world too, due to many of us staying at home. And then we published this newsletter on the Zimbabwe blog, instead ot on this blog, for which we apologize.
Since SPURT is online, we all know that we are still active. All of you can still use your accounts.  That is not depending on us writing a newsletter.

They often say, “the calm before the storm,” well, that was for sure the case. The storm is broken out all over the world, just as it was calm all over the world—the storm of inequality, inequality EVEN in connection to the cause of the calm.

The difference between rich and poor is even more significant as it was already and is shown in healthcare for the victims too.
Will we awake this time? Can we see this as a chance to GROW? As a chance to allow others ALSO to be respected and honored? To have a better life, also economically? SPURT CAN be one of the solutions.
I learned that the privilege of being white was not even really in my head. I did not realize that a child, until 7 years old, already has the imprint for their whole life in them. That is their basic thought system for the rest of their lives. Their autopilot. When things go wrong, they fall back to that autopilot. What do WE teach our children?

When you are born black, you had another imprint as when you are born white. Is that just?

We truly believe that SPURT is there to support also those who do not have the same rights.
“Justice is blind?” Do you really believe that? If so, then all people should be judged without being seen, so that the color of their skin is not influencing the “blind” justice.

SPURT, with the excellent functioning mobile app, and possibly other functions in the future, is perfect for all to have equal chances in their lives. We cannot wait until that is finally happening!

Activities

In all activities we undertake, there were slight hold-ups due to the lockdown, for not all people were available.
For our Zimbabwean clients, the lockdown was of significant impact, for they could not work. We paid almost 50.000 people working for SPURT-Jobs in SPURT, but hunger is a real problem now, and people are dying. The work where local currency could be earned was locked down too, which is causing huge damage to the economy of this hardly surviving country.

The problem with SPURT is that there are not many using SPURT each day. For Zimbabwe, we now started a campaign to actively use their SPURT so that some money can be earned. We do all we can to support them to get access to the so much needed small funding of projects. Would there be interest from our other clients to form cooperatives, for funding, like, for example, water pumps?

Sometimes we get the question from people interested in working with us if the clients USE their SPURT, and we have to admit that we would love to see more movement, even if through the TimeBank.

The most significant change lately is in South America, where a whole province from a country is now working daily with SPURT! We are working on total acceptance by the country, but we need to travel and are waiting for the lockdown to be over. GREAT work is done in South America, for which we are very grateful!
In Zimbabwe, we are working on connections to high levels too.

Support for countries and Covid19

We are ready to support any country. Support would be needed, primarily due to the challenges of Covid19. Would it not be great when we, in connection with our partners, could work with all countries where our clients have accounts? Buy/Sell transactions between those countries would be beneficial for all.

SPURT IS a perfect solution for many problems in the world. Did you already read the FREE EBook: “Ch@nging Money,” from STRO, the organization behind Cyclos, our banking system?
We invite you to read it and SHARE it with your friends, so you understand that currencies as SPURT are vital.

Not so long ago, we also encouraged you to read “Rethinking Money” from Bernard Lietaer, which is precisely describing where local currencies already do great things. There are many examples of such currencies on his website. Interesting YouTubes are also available.

We encourage you to support SPURT in your thoughts and deeds!
You can be sure that we will never give up!

Kind Regards

MySPURT Team
